Christophe Decarnin is the French designer that brought Balmain to life and did the creator, Pierre Balmain (1950s) Justice! If you don’t recall Balmain, I’m sure you recall seeing numerous amounts of celebs wearing the “Michael Jackson” looking jackets lately, or even dresses/shirts with the square shoulders ? Well that is, Balmain. An AMAZING French brand, with a “dirty sex appeal. This guy creates $1,500 Cotton t-shirts & $5,000 ripped acid wash jeans. To Balmain, that cotton t-shirt is probably the lest expensive item you’ll see. “At some level these kinds of prices are offensive. Decarnin said the prices reflect the quality of workmanship and fabrics, as well as the company’s limited structure.” Once he took over from previous designer, Laurent Mercier, Balmain Sky rocketed! Starting trends and making bold statements on the red carpet. He is absolutely amazing.
