Demetrius is a GREAT friend & supporter of Lipstick & Labels. I have gotten the opportunity to get to know him personally over the past couple of years, & I can honestly say that he is an AMAZING person. Filled with drive, passion, perseverance, & positive energy. We had so many differences, but ONE thing we had in common was our passion. His for basketball...mine for fashion. We have always supported each other, & even though we aren't as close as we used to be.. I will know we will ALWAYS support each other. Lipstick & Labels is a proud supporter & can't wait to go to get footage on his NBA games ;).

KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR DIGANOSED W. CANCER

Kareem Abdul Jabbar recently made a public announcement that he has been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia.

Having lost one of his close friends due to this disease; Jabbar says shows him how serious this was.

Being a leading scorer, won five championships with the Los Angeles Lakers before retiring in 1989. He was diagnosed with CML in December 2008 and is being treated with a medicine that targets the abnormal protein that causes his leukemia. With treatment, Abdul-Jabbar, who currently is a coach with the Lakers, is expected to live a full, active life.

“I’m telling my story to encourage fellow patients to take charge of their health,” he said. “Work closely with your doctor, monitor your disease and, above all, take your medicine."

Michael Jordan Officially In The Hall Of Fame !

For those that dont know:Congratss To Jordan For being inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame Sep. 11th, 2009.

Jordan was the one who got me into watching ball when i was 7-8 years old. Living in queens.. with my dad & brother & uncles & Guy cousins LOL. Every game the house would be quite as we watched the games. I've grown to love the game of basketball & have dreams of one day marrying a basketball player lmao =) Chicago Bulls, Number 23 (the same date as my bday btw) haha. Even scottie pippen, dennis rodman, phil jackson.. the whole bulls. I've always been a fan of jordan. From the court, to the Space Jam movie/book, To his jerseys, & of courseeee being a collector of his sneakers ! haha. i used to be those jordan feens that saved up enough allowance money when i knew "that saturday" was coming up. A new release. haha. Jordan will always be the best ! Once again congrats to the greatest thats ever done it !

Michael Vick Back In The NFL !

So Mike Vick got signed to ..drum roll please.. The Philidelphia Eagles. Definetley caught alot of people off guard.. & they're mixed feelings about this.. but none the less He is back in the NFL. He is signed with a one year contract along with a 2nd year as an option. *Food For Thought: In 2004 Michael Vick was the HIGHEST PAID PLAYER IN THE NFL ! & He went & messed it up SMH ! Hopefully he comes back real strong this season. I know everyone is anxious to see the turn out. :) xoxo Happy Football everyone !

* word on the street seems 2 bee that former QB of the Falcons cud possibly be reinstated as soon as next week ! . Vick met w|. NFL comissioner Roger Goodell, who may be close to reaching his decision on Vick.

Vick was already given a suspension by Goodell as well as 23 month-federal prison time & house arrest. From the infamous dog-fighting incident which led to this entire, mess in the 1st place. No team has expressed bringing Vick in 4 try-outs as of yet.

GUESS WE'LL JUSS HAVE 2 WAIT & SEE..
